Keep your cake level at all times. Do not place on slanted car seat. The floor of vehicle is the safest place for it. If you will be transporting your cake AGAIN after taking it home, refrigerate it so the cake will be nice & firm for travel. Drive carefully and avoid slamming the brakes or sharp turns. (Cakes don’t like that)
Your cake can be refrigerated before serving. BUT this is not required UNLESS your cake has whipped cream or filling. Cakes should be room temp for cutting. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
Keep cake out of the sun & away from heat. Buttercream cakes may melt or sweat. Make sure your cake stand & table are stable if bumped. Cakes with filling can be displayed for 3 hours only prior to cutting. Any time longer than that, cake should be refrigerated
Watch for & remove any/all dowels & support material when serving. Tiered cakes & cakes with toppers will have dowels/wooden skewers in them. Tiered cakes will have a board under every tier, which will allow you to remove each cake for easier cutting.
Use Cutting Board & Large Knife
