After High School, I attended a Culinary Arts school in downtown Chicago named C.H.I.C. (Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago). I learned cooking & pastry terms, different cutting & cooking techniques, and had hands-on training in the kitchen. I loved that place.
Unfortunately, coming from a broken family made finances and the ability to pay for schooling much more difficult than an 18yo could understand, so I quit two semesters in.
Being in the kitchen has always been my comfort zone. I’m just so blessed that 20+ years later, I can still practice much of what I learned way back when, and be able to spread some sweetness into the lives of everyone that takes a chance on me.
Pies of Amor started with making only it’s signature Chocolatey Banana Cream Pie for Thanksgiving of 2020. This pie had been made decades prior but never was for sale.

As we all know, 2020 was the year of no gatherings for Easter, Mother’s Day, birthdays, or any holiday in between. So that meant I would not be making my Chocolatey Banana Cream Pie for Thanksgiving or Christmas. A great sadness came over me to think that everything was so crazy. So crazy that I wouldn’t even be making pies! It really took me for a loop.
So I decided to ask the people of Facebook (right before I went to bed at almost midnight) IF I made Chocolatey Banana Cream Pies to sell for Thanksgiving, if anyone would even buy them… I didn’t think anything of it. I just went to bed.
The next morning, one of my good friends texted me to put in her order for TWO Chocolatey Banana Cream Pies. I was so happy, I couldn't believe it. (I hadn’t opened Facebook yet)
After that I opened Facebook and to my surprise, I had over 30 comments! These were just people who'd seen my post overnight. As the day progressed, more people were asking for pie.
I was humbled and blessed.
That holiday season I made over 100 Chocolatey Banana Cream pies. That was the start to something really special.
Sweets that come out of this kitchen are only what I would serve to my own family.
All ingredients are only of the best quality.
Skimping on ingredients is not practiced at all when it comes to desserts by
Pies of Amor.
I only expect the very best when I make a purchase from someone so you also will only get the best when ordering from
Pies of Amor.
